About Giorgis Katsanevakis

Hello! I’m Giorgis!     

       I’m a nature and outdoor enthusiast, born and raised in Crete, with a degree in mathematics, who swapped spreadsheets for mountain summits. Growing up among the rugged mountains and gorges of Western Crete gave me a deep love for exploration and for guiding others through the island’s hidden natural treasures. I love sharing with others the authentic landscapes and adventurous experiences that this region offers.

After years in the business world, I now dedicate my career entirely to the outdoor industry, leading hiking, climbing, and canyoning adventures, and sharing my passion for nature with visitors.

      I’ve spent months backpacking across multiple continents, exploring remote mountains, jungles, and deserts. Yet, there is no place like Crete. Those journeys taught me self-reliance, patience, and a deep respect for the natural world – lessons I carry into every tour I lead. My focus is to create immersive, meaningful experiences that allow people to connect with nature and themselves.

      Through my acquaintance with Dimitris and by embracing the vision and values of NatureSoul Adventures, I enthusiastically decided to take on the responsibility of organizing and coordinating activities in Western Crete. From epic hikes through Samaria Gorge, Imbros Gorge, Agia Irini Gorge, and Kourtaliotis Gorge, to climbing routes along the cliffs of Loutro and Sfakia, and canyoning adventures in hidden gorges across the White Mountains (Lefka Ori), I design every experience to combine authentic adventure, local culture, and a true connection with the wild landscapes of Chania and Western Crete.

      I am fully committed to Western Crete, not only as a guide but as the organizer and coordinator of all outdoor adventures in the region. From planning and leading epic hikes through Samaria Gorge, Imbros Gorge, Agia Irini Gorge, and Kourtaliotis Gorge, to overseeing climbing routes along the cliffs of Loutro and Sfakia, and coordinating canyoning adventures in the hidden gorges of the White Mountains (Lefka Ori), I ensure that every experience is expertly managed, safe, and unforgettable. My role allows me to share my deep knowledge and passion for the mountains, gorges, and outdoor challenges of Western Crete, creating authentic connections between visitors, nature, and the unique spirit of this extraordinary region.
