Roza & Embassa Gorges Hiking Tour

Two gorges. One rewarding journey.

From Roza’s dramatic cliffs to Embassa’s green trails, this guided hike reveals the contrasts of Crete’s mountain landscapes. Join NatureSoul Adventures for a 9 km circular route from Gonies, near the Lasithi Plateau, with a relaxing break near Kera along the way.

The Ascent Through Roza Gorge

Begin with an approximately 90-minute uphill hike through Roza Gorge. Follow rocky passages beneath towering limestone cliffs, taking in views of the gorge and surrounding mountains as you climb.

Expect steep, uneven sections during the ascent, with rewarding viewpoints along the way.

Time to Pause Near Kera

After the climb, enjoy half an hour of free time in the Kera area. Relax, take in the mountain atmosphere or choose to have lunch at a traditional tavern.

Lunch is optional and is not included in the activity price.

The Descent Through Embassa Gorge

Continue through neighbouring Embassa Gorge, where trees and richer vegetation offer a refreshing change of scenery.

The approximately 90-minute descent brings us back to Gonies, completing the circular route. The full experience lasts approximately 4 hours, including the one-hour break.
